Professional work:
  • Worked in corporate strategy, corporate finance, global sales and marketing, and product development in telecommunications and education industries in companies across the world
Public service:
  • Winner of the World Bank India Development Marketplace Award 2007
    • Provided human powered lighting solutions to tribals and nomads in 120 locations in rural India through my social venture that secured funding from the World Bank
  • Started HyCity.in, the Internet-based citizen-driven governance observatory for the Hyderabad city in 2012
  • Started the 'Voter India' initiative to improve the quality of the voter lists for a stronger democracy by conducting door-to-door enrollment of tens of thousands of new voters
  • Work in urban development, environment and sustainable development is recognized by various universities and governments
    • Contributed as invited expert at Sustainable Development International, held under the aegis of United Nations, and at World Forum in Geneva, Switzerland
    • Presented and chaired sessions at sustainable development and regional planning conferences at Warsaw School of Economics in Poland, University of Sharjah, University of Hong Kong, in Beijing and in Chicago
    • Awarded sponsorships from City of Geneva and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation
    • Nominated for Green Leaf Award 2007 in solid waste management; one of three nominees across India
Politics:
  • Contested as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) candidate from the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency in the Hyderabad city during the 2014 India elections, representing the Lok Satta Party
  • Member of the National Council of the Lok Satta Party
  • Led "People For Lok Satta", the international political organization based out of U.S., as a member of the founding Executive Board and as the Vice President - Finance in its first elected Executive Board from 2009 to 2012
  • Spoke on improving the state of politics at the Harvard India Conference 2013 conducted by the Harvard Business School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Boston, U.S.A
Poetry:
  • Authored two poetry books, Wanderings with Poetry (Peacock Books, 2007), and Song of a Bard and Other Poems (Prestige Books, 2005)
Education:
  • Full-time MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, one of the top three business school programs in the world
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore
